I got this shampoo in a set along with the leave-in conditioner, deep conditioner, and hair silk for $39.99 from TJMaxx. I was super excited about this because Mixed Chicks are a little on the expensive side for natural hair products. They use to run like $20 per product, now they are a little more affordable depending on the product. I tried the shampoo, but I honestly didn’t find a big difference in my hair. Although, I don’t expect much out of shampoos because they are supposed to cleanse and not have much of an effect. But, I do find great shampoos who do a good job at moisturizing even before applying conditioner. I think this conditioner would be more appropriate for someone who needs a clarifying shampoo and/or has low porosity. Since this shampoo contains sulfate, it will remove the build-up you may be experiencing. Since I don’t have build-up problems on a regular, I don’t really have a need for this shampoo.

A good tip: If your hair isn’t responding to certain products you use to love, it probably means you have build-up and it’s time for a clarifying shampoo to remove that build-up.

Ratings and Comments:
This shampoo has great qualities including great lather and awesome smell, but this is not sulfate-free and can leave the hair feeling stripped of its nutrients. They do have a sulfate-free shampoo, but I have not tried that particular one.

I give this product a 4 out of 5.
